Non-Surgical Orthopedic Physician – Delray Beach, FL

Meet Dr.
Jack M. Trainor II, MD, FM, Sports Med

Jack Marshall Trainor II M.D. is happy to be residing, once again, in his hometown of Fort Lauderdale. Having grown up in Coral Ridge, he attended Bayview Elementary School, Sunrise Middle School, and graduated from Ft. Lauderdale High School, while lettering in five varsity sports. Dr. Trainor's Freshman and Sophomore college years were spent at Miami-Dade Community College on a baseball scholarship, while at the same time earning Academic All-American Honors.

He continued on a baseball scholarship during his Junior and Senior years at Stetson University in Deland, Florida. For two years (1986-1988) after graduating from Stetson, he attempted a career in professional baseball, while working off-season as a lifeguard for the Ft. Lauderdale Beach Patrol and volunteering his time in marine biology at Ocean World. During the time he spent as a professional ballplayer, he gained special insight into the needs of active people, which continues to uniquely qualify him to understand his patients' needs. He completed his Bachelor of Science at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. While completing his medical degree at Marshall University, he tutored college students with learning disabilities. His residency degree was completed at the University of Florida Shands/Jax in Jacksonville, Florida.

From 2000 to 2003, he returned to Marshall University to complete specialty training in an accredited Sports Medicine fellowship, was an assistant clinical professor and was also the assistant team physician for Marshall University during this time. Dr. Trainor is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, specializing in a practice devoted to Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine.
